The work

Paintings that follow their own logic. Each series start in the sketchbook and refuses to stop until the painting is finished. Some are crowded and curious, full of objects that somehow ended up on the same canvas. Others are quiet, almost nothing, just to see the whole. Different worlds same wandering mind.

Der verschwundende lolly im treppenhaus

Your story. Painted.

Every commission starts with a conversation. You bring the story, a person, a place, a feeling, a memory. Sarah translates it into a painting that is entirely yours.

Studio notes

Sarah Cox,

Artouflage is the work of visual artist Sarah Cox, Belgian and based in the Netherlands.

She has been painting for over 30 years, largely self-taught, always sketchbook first.

Her work moves between autonomous series and commissioned pieces made in close conversations with clients.

Her compass hasn't changed: a small smile is enough.

"Some thoughts refuse to stop.

Some stories refuse to stay untold"
